Government Aid During The Covid-19 Pandemic.

We are living in unprecedented times and nobody knows how this is all going to play out with the Coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic.

Many businesses are closing down and even more people are losing their jobs. I've heard predictions that the coming recession will be worse than the great depression of the 1920's and 1930's.

We don't know if we all try and get back to normal in the summer and then find a resurgence of the Coronavirus in the winter and we all have to go in lockdown again.

Governments in more developed economies are rolling out economic stimuli to try and help businesses weather the worst of this storm. If you think you are able to claim any grants or loans then in the first instance speak to your accountant, if you have one, to see what they know.

In the meantime you may want to start searching the internet and see what you can find. I have managed to dig up a few websites that may be of interest to you, the links are below.

USA. This is an article on the Fortune website giving a very comprehensive insight on what the US Government is rolling out to help.  Click Here

UK. This links direct to the .gov website with, hopefully, all the current information needed for you to learn what help is available from the UK Government right now.  Click Here

Australia. Same as the UK, this is the actual government website so all the information that is available should be here.  Click Here

Canada. This is also the official government website, so again should have all the information available.  Click Here

Sorry I haven't got any other countries information, the language barrier stops me from knowing what information I am seeing, please Google any information for your relevant countries.

As I say, these are terrible times. My wife is a wedding photographer and has had nearly 6 months work wiped out with no guarantee that things will be back to normal by the summer and the same goes for all her business friends who work in the wedding industry.

If any of you are affected business wise or health wise with this current situation I wish you the best and I hope everything works out for you in the long run. In the short term, I think we will just have to keep our heads down but not lose our heads.

Keep safe and take care.
